Can I save the image on the same USB drive of Clonezilla live? |
Yes, you can. Two options:
- Create 2 partitions on USB flash drive. In this case, you can save the image on the 2nd partition where no Clonezilla live files.
- You only have one partition on your USB drive. In this case, when booting Clonezilla live, you should choose "To RAM" option. Then when choosing image repository, you could choose the USB flash drive as repository. If you do not choose "To RAM" option in the boot menu, the device is busily mounted (a file "filesystem.squashfs" using squashfs file system on that is being mounted, which is used for the root file system of Clonezilla live) and it won't be able to be used as image repository. In the older version (< 2.2.2-32) of Clonezilla live, we re-mount the USB drive in writable mode. However, this is risky because the file system on the USB drive might crash due to busy mode when rebooting.
